Principles

Core principles informing the work of the Commission included:

• Considering equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice in all aspects of discussions, analysis and recommendations
• Recognition of the need to actively engage people and communities in future efforts to transform oral health systems and policies
• Acknowledging that piecemeal change is not enough – to tackle oral diseases globally requires radical and transformative change
• Oral health as a basic human right needs to inform all future action.
